While playing Assassin's Creed: Shadows, I was inspired to try my own hand at creating a Japanese temple environment. In particular, I wanted to recreate the 3D mesh scattered moss that could be seen on some of the assets in-game, and I wanted to capture the tranquil morning fog that can be seen periodically.
The scene is loosely based on the Towada Shrine, with additional inspiration taken from Assassin's Creed shadows and Ghost of Tsushima/Yotei.
All of the structures are modelled and textured by me. Foliage assets are taken from the Quixel Library.
